In recent years, the menopause has ceased to be a taboo subject. It is now openly discussed and accepted as a matter of course, and all women are encouraged to take care of themselves during this stage and seek support to tackle the problems it can sometimes bring.<\/p>

But there is still some confusion about when it starts and when it ends<\/a>, or what symptoms can be experienced at each stage.<\/p>

This lack of precision is due to the fact that neither its beginning nor its end can be determined exactly for each woman. It is a journey that can be very different from one to the other. However, there are a number of guidelines and symptoms that are easy to detect and can give us clues<\/strong>.<\/p>

Premenopause<\/h5>
It begins at the time when women start to gradually lose their ovarian function. It occurs from a woman\u2019s 40s onwards. It can last several years and varies from woman to woman.<\/div>

Perimenopause<\/h5>
It is a stage marked by changes in menstruation: you may have periods every 2-3 months, times without periods and others with periods. It can last from 1 to 3 years and you may experience some vasomotor symptoms due to hormonal deficiency, such as hot flushes.<\/div>
